Cement production increased by 53 thousand tonnes in Tajikistan in the first quarter of the year

Almaty. April 20. Silkroadnews – Cement production increased by 53 thousand tonnes in Tajikistan in the first quarter of the year, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported.

“In the first quarter of the year Tajikistan produced 426 thousand tonnes of cement, which is a 53-thousand tonnes increase year-on-year”, the report said.

Within the period mentioned around 133 thousand tonnes of cement were exported abroad.

The existing production capacities, as noted, are sufficient to meet the domestic market demand.

At present there are 13 cement production enterprises operating in the country.

Earlier it was reported that the republic’s consumption of cement is estimated at 3-3.5 million tonnes per year, with import being delivered mainly from Pakistan and Iran.

Currently Tajikistan produces “400”, “500” and “600” branded cement. Another cement producing enterprise, with more than 1 million tonnes capacity, is planned to be launched till the end of the year.
