Checkpoint officers have been killed in Afghanistan

Beijing. February 12. Silkroadnews - A defector killed 16 Afghan security officials in the southern Afghan province of Helmand on Saturday evening, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The local authorities report the incident occurred at a checkpoint in the county of Gereshk. The perpetrator shot his associates, then fled the scene of the crime, Tolo channel reported.
Reportedly the traitor either poisoned his colleagues at first or shot them sleeping.
The Taliban movement assumed responsibility for the attack. Representatives of the Taliban reported the assaulter took weapons and joined the rebel group.
Helmand, as noted, is one of the troubled Afghan provinces with several counties controlled by the rebels. Besides, it is one of the largest poppy growing provinces of the country.
