China and Belarus to create tractors joint production in Vilnius

Almaty. September 7. Silkroadnews – Negotiations on organization of the Belarusian-Chinese joint venture to produce tractors on the basis of JSC «Amkodor Baltic» were held in Vilnius, Chinese media reported.

Director General of the Chinese company Zoomlion Wang Jinfu, Director General of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Minsk Tractor Works Fyodor Domotenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor Alexander Shakutin, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania Alexander Korol took part in the negotiations.

«As a result of negotiations the sides signed a protocol of intent on cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering. It is planned to assemble the Belarusian tractors using the Chinese components at JSC «Amkodor Baltic» in Vilnius. In the future these tractors may be sold to the EU markets, Eurasian Economic Community or, via the Klaipeda seaport, to China», the statement said.

The potential of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone will be used to make the components to assemble the tractors.

The sides have agreed to prepare and sign an agreement on strategic cooperation in the area of marketing and technical aspects of the project's implementation.
