China and EEC countries to share information on goods transported across their customs borders

Beijing. January 17. Silkroadnews - China and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Community Customs Union will exchange information on goods and transport moving across the customs borders of the union member states and China, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) has reported with reference to the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
"The EEC Collegium approved a draft agreement on exchange of information on goods and vehicles of international transport moving across the customs borders of the Customs Union states and the People’s Republic of China. In addition, the collegium approved the drafts of structure and format of goods declaration, transit declaration, as well as declaration of customs value,” the statement said.
As explained, the agreement will speed up the clearance procedures for the goods imported into the countries of the union and China, as well as the goods transported by transit. The parties also plan to use the data to improve efficiency in terms of risk management and customs control.
At the first stage, the information will be provided on the goods exported from the Customs Union states to the PRC and from the PRC to the union member states, as well as on the vehicles transporting such goods.
In the future, as noted, the volume of information to share is expected to expand. It is planned that information will be provided on goods and vehicles of international transport that are exported from their territories and transit through the territory of the partners by agreement.
“The draft agreement will be aimed at intra-state coordination in the countries of the union, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of February. After that, its legal and technical revision will be carried out, the date and place of signing will be determined,” the EEC officials say.
