China and Egypt agreed on light rail joint construction in the suburbs of Cairo

Almaty. July 19. Silkroadnews – China and Egypt agreed on joint construction of light railway in the suburbs of Cairo, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
“Egyptian President Sisi met a coalition of Chinese firms Tuesday over building a light rail transit around Cairo. The meeting reached an initial agreement on the project”, the report said on Wednesday.
It is noted that the project will be carried out by AVIC International and China Railway Group Limited. The total length of the roads within the project is expected to cover 66 km with 11 stations set. The project is a part to the plan on Egyptian railway network development.
