China and Kazakhstan agreed on tourist cooperation in the border areas

Almaty. August 17. Silkroadnews - China and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on tourism cooperation in the border areas, Xinhua news agency reported.
"Travel agencies of Altai District of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the East Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism", - says the publication.
According to the document, the parties will support the development of cross-border tourism cooperation and encourage cooperation between tour operators of the two countries. An agreement was reached on the exchange of delegations to participate in major tourist fairs and exhibitions in the two countries.
In addition, China and Kazakhstan have also come to a consensus on holding working meetings, exchanging views and solving existing issues related to tourism cooperation.
As noted, the countries in recent years have strengthened their collaboration in the field of tourism. In August 2014 at a checkpoint "Zimunai" on the Sino-Kazakh border was introduced three days visa-free regime for citizens of Kazakhstan.
The agreement was reached during the passing in Urumqi III international forum for economic cooperation in the subregion around the Altai Mountains in the economic zone of the Silk Road.
