China and Tajikistan have launched a currency swap in the amount of 3 billion yuan

Almaty. December 14. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan and China opened a currency swap line, reports the Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Monday.
"On December 13 in the city of Urumqi was held ceremony launching the currency swap lines between Tajikistan and China, which at the request of the National Bank of Tajikistan, will prevent sharp fluctuations in the US dollar against the national currency", - confirmed the source of the NBT.
In September, the central banks of China and Tajikistan signed an agreement on currency swap, which will produce currency payments in one currency equivalent in other to promote the bilateral trade agreements and to provide liquidity support to the financial markets.
Agreement in the amount of 3 billion yuan - 3 billion somoni (about $470 million) will be valid for three years with possible extension by mutual consent. The document is intended to further develop cooperation in the field of trade and investment, and to ensure regional financial stability.
According to statistics, in 2014 China became the second largest investor and third largest trading partner of Tajikistan.
