Almaty. December 28. Silkroadnews - China's parliament for the first time in the history of the country has approved a law banning domestic violence, reports the BBC.
Under the new law, physical, psychological and other forms of domestic violence become a crime. The law also facilitates the procedure for obtaining restraining orders prohibiting the perpetrator to approach the victim.
Along with this, Parliament formally approved the government's decision to allow all families to have two children.
This change in the law was announced by the Communist Party of China in October, but officially approved by the Parliament only now. The law comes into force on January 1, 2016.
