China became the world leader in deep-sea exploration
Almaty. October 19. Silkroadnews – China has become the world leader in deep-sea exploration, China Daily reported.
““China’s deep sea submersible technology has changed from being a follower to world leader in certain areas,” Tang Jialing, 33, told reporters on the sidelines of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,” the report said.
According to him, China will continue to improve efficiency and reduce the dive time of the “Jiaolong”, China’s first deep-sea research submersible and contribute to the deep-sea scientific research.
It is noted that Tang, a delegate to the 19 th All-China Congress of the CPC, was one of the first Chinese explorers, deep-sea workers. He participated in all underwater researches by Jiaolong at a depth of 1000-7000 meters. He also set the world record for diving with Jiaolong in June 2012, reaching 7 062 meters in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.
In 2002, China began its first deep-sea research project with manned submersible. In 2010, the “Jiaolong”, named after the mythical sea dragon, was put into service. In early October, China completed the first deep-sea test of its new manned submersible “Shenhai Yongshi” (“Deep-sea warrior”). It reached a depth of 4,500 meters in the South China Sea.
While most of the equipment of “Jiaolong” was imported, about 90% of equipment for Shenhai Yongshi and all its core components were produced domestically.
In the future China also aims to reach a depth of 10,000 meters using the submersibles of domestic production.
