China buys 130 Airbus planes for $18.5 billion

Almaty. October 29. Silkroadnews - The Chinese authorities have signed an agreement to buy 130 aircraft from European aircraft company Airbus for a total of 17 billion euros ($18.5 billion), reported the BBC Russian Service.
"The deal was signed in Beijing in the presence of Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. According to the agreement, China will receive 30 wide-body aircraft models A330 and 100 narrow-body aircraft model A320", - says the publication.
As expected, the number of passengers traveling by air transport in China and its territory in the next 20 years will triple, so Chinese airlines has been actively expanding its fleet.
The main competitor of Airbus for the Chinese aviation market is a US Boeing.
According to forecasts of Boeing, in the next 20 years, China plans to buy 6330 passenger planes worth $950 billion.
According to the International Air Transport Association, by 2034, China will become the world's largest air transport market.
