China can pass to the grid with the dominance of renewable energy sources by 2050

Almaty. April 21. Silkroadnews - China in 2050 may form the energy system, which will be dominated by renewable energy sources, informs the agency Xinhua, citing a study of specialists from the Institute of Energy Research.
Within three years, a team of specialists from the Institute of Energy Research at the State Committee for National Development and Reform Commission, State Center for Renewable Energy and other agencies have been working on a project studying the prospects of development of the power system with a high share of renewable energy (60%), as well as ways to implement such a model.
Thus, the rate of development of the national energy strategy is defined, and "how successfully the next decade will be able to overcome the technological and institutional barriers will determine the country's ability to realize the goals of development in 2050", - said the deputy chairman of the Chinese Society for the Study of energy Hae Tszyankun.
Despite the fact that the law on renewable energy operates in China not for the first year, a common understanding of the need for priority use, unfortunately, does not exist -  said the deputy head of the State Administration for energy Shi Lishan.
This, according to him, is explained on the one hand, as there is the fragility of developing wind, solar and other renewable energy, and on the other - the complexity of the coordination of interests between the various types of power plants. Therefore, the expert pointed out, that the transition to a new model of energy consumption is not possible without technical progress and institutional innovation.
Energy transformation is the guarantee of turning China into a country with a strong economy, convinced H.Tszyankun. Emerging sectors such as wind and solar power, electric cars, can become a new source of growth for the Chinese economy, he said.
