China does not intend to infringe Kazakhstan’s rights when it comes to trans-border river water resources - MFA

Astana. May 13. Silkroadnews – In confirmation of our strategic partnership with China, 3 generations of Chinese political leaders assured they do not intend to infringe Kazakhstan’s rights, when it comes to trans-border rivers water resources, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rapil Zhoshybayev said at the briefing for journalists.
He says Kazakhstan and the PRC are in agreement to work on intergovernmental document on water extraction in different areas of trans-border Rivers. This is to become a principal document to govern water relations.
“The agreement on joint use of small borderline rivers and water resources has already been reached… The Chinese party is currently active to work out the dam construction plan to protect Khorgos lakes from mudflows”, Mister Zhoshybayev added.
