China expects practical results in building the Economic Belt of the Silk Road in interconnection with the EEU establishment

Almaty. August 25. Silkroadnews – Zhang Gaoli, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council of People's Republic of China, met with Chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan in Bejing, Chinese media reported.

«The Chinese side is ready to work with the EEU member states to achieve practical results in realization of «One Belt, One Road» initiative in interconnection with the EEU establishment, thus, contributing to the common development and prosperity of the countries», the publication says with reference to Z. Gaoli saying.

In his turn T. Sargsyan noted that China is a priority partner for the EEU in terms of cooperation, thus, the Union aims to work together with China to facilitate realization of «One Belt, One Road» initiative in interconnection with the EEU establishment.

Zhang Gaoli reminded that back in May 2015 Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on cooperation between China and Russia on the «Economic Belt of the Silk Road» and the EEU that marked the beginning of interconnection process.
