Almaty. May 14. Silkroadnews - China has built the world's largest transport ship for transporting liquefied natural gas, informed the newspaper "People's Daily".
"On May 8 in the marine waters of the Gulf of Tonkin shipbuilding company "Jiangnan" successfully hanged over to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) transport ship "Haiyang Shiyu 301" for transporting liquefied natural gas", - says the publication.
The ship will soon be put into operation. "Haiyang Shiyu 301" is the world's largest transport ship Type C for LNG, designed by the Shanghai Design and Research Institute of merchant ships (SDARI), which will be leading a group of medium and small vessels for LNG CNOOC.
This type of vessel saves energy and reduces emissions as the main fuel is vaporized natural gas, it significantly reduces emission of toxic gases and solids.
It is noted that the capacity of the new vessel is 30 thousand m3. The total length of the ship is 184.7 meters, width - 28.1 m, capacity - 30 thousand m3. The vessel can do self-docking, which significantly reduces the dependence on port tugs, thus effectively reduces the cost of operation.
