China has closed 17 thousand industrial plants because of emissions

Almaty. December 28. Silkroadnews - The Government of China for the outgoing 2015 has closed about 17 thousand enterprises that regularly exceed the maximum permissible level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, reports the BBC Russian Service.
This December in Beijing was first declared a "red" level of danger because of the smog. In this regard, in the Chinese capital were closed schools, stopped all construction work. To improve the ecological situation in the city, authorities timely had to cut the flow of cars in half.
The measures gave a short-term effect; in mid-December in the Chinese capital was once again declared a "red" level of danger because of the smog. Then the level of pollution in some parts of Beijing was 265 micrograms per cubic meter, whereas the WHO considers safe for human use of 25 micrograms per square meter.
According to the forecast, the last Saturday and Sunday of December the level of air pollution in Beijing once again reached dangerous for public health significance.
The reason is called smog emissions from enterprises, coal-fired heating systems, as well as the construction dust from the numerous construction sites in Beijing.
