China has convicted 49 people responsible for explosions at the chemical factory in Tianjin
Almaty. November 10. Silkroadnews – The court of the northern Chinese city of Tianjin sentenced to jail 49 people responsible for the explosions in a chemicals warehouse in the port city, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reported.
The article notes, among the convicted there are 24 staff of the company and 25 employees of the city administration.
They were found guilty of various crimes resulted in explosions at the warehouse.
To remind, the chemical blast happened in the port city of Tianjin on August 12, 2015, at the warehouse of “Zhuyhay” company, where a large number of hazardous chemicals, including 700 tonnes of sodium cyanide, were kept. As a result of explosion 165 people were killed.
After the tragedy Tianjin began to redeploy the chemical factories to the industrial zone Nanang, located about 30 km from the explosion site and 10 km from away from the nearest settlement. Nanang Industrial Zone covers 200 square km and will become the multi-functional industrial zone to include large chemical industries and port.
