Almaty. August 22. Silkroadnews – China has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the investigation launched by the U.S., China’s CCTV channel reported.
The US’ disregard of World Trade Organization rules and use of domestic law to initiate a trade investigation against China is irresponsible, and China is strongly dissatisfied with such unilateralism and protectionism, the report said quoting a spokesman for China’s Commerce Ministry.
It is explained that on August 18 the U.S. Trade Representative formally initiated an investigation against China in accordance with Section 301 of the U.S. Trade Act of 1974.
China’s ministry spokesman called the U.S. accusations against China to be not objective.
After the meetings of two states’ leaders at Mar-a-Lago and Hamburg, the Chinese and U.S. sides, following the mutual benefit and win-win principles, held constructive consultations within the framework of a comprehensive economic dialogue and achieved real results, the publication says.
China’s Commerce Ministry also said the U.S. decision to launch a trade probe is wrong and urged the U.S. to take measures to ensure the development of bilateral trade and economic relations along the healthy and steady path.
China will closely monitor the development of the investigation and will do everything necessary to protect its legitimate interests, spokesman for the ministry is quoted saying.
