Almaty. June 19. Silkroadnews - China presented to the world community its own design technology of the third generation of reactors Hualun-1, which will compete with the American, French and Russian project of the third generation, reported the China Internet Information Center.
"Hualun-1 is a perfect example of innovation and development of China, based on the experiences of the Chinese nuclear industry for decades. Hualun-1 can fully meet the safety standards and requirements for the operation of third-generation nuclear power technologies", - said the deputy general manager of China National Nuclear Corporation Yu Peygen.
He stressed that nuclear power will play an important role in promoting cooperation between China and other countries.
In the world at present 66 nuclear reactors are under construction, and 24 of them are in China, said the head of the World Nuclear Association for China François Morin
China has played the role of engine on the international market of nuclear energy, he said, adding that Hualun-1 has extensive business opportunities in the global market and the success of technology in China will greatly contribute to this.
Head of Department of Clean Energy, British company AMEC, Clive White said he will oversee the construction and operation of Hualun-1 in China.
China has made new progress in the development of nuclear technologies, but these technologies will have to be tested by the international market standards.
About 200 experts from the UK, USA, France, Saudi Arabia and the Arab League attended the event.
