China has signed cooperation agreements with 49 countries along the new Silk Road

Almaty. September 27. Silkroadnews – As a part of its new Silk Road project China has recently signed agreements on cooperation on science and technology with 49 countries, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun said.

«Scientific innovation is playing a positive role in the Belt and Road Initiative, and has already achieved great results. (…) China has signed cooperative agreements on science and technology with 49 countries along the Belt and Road route», «People's Daily» quotes the official saying.

Vice Minister also added, the scientific innovation is one of the key aspects for the New Silk Road concept development.

«The Belt and Road Initiative has raised an urgent need for strengthening scientific and technological cooperation. China and countries along the [Silk Road] have a lot in common, and the future of their scientific cooperation is bright», he said.

To remind, in 2013 China announced a new strategy for economic development of «One Belt, One Road» aimed to create the infrastructure and establish relationships between the countries of Eurasia. The strategy has two key development areas: economic belt of the Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road. It is about building the trade corridor for direct delivery of goods from East to West on favorable terms.
