China intends to increase the import of Iranian oil
Almaty. April 10. Silkroadnews - Iran and China have agreed to fully contribute to further expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Friday.
These and other agreements were reached during the ongoing visit to Beijing of Iranian government delegation led by the Minister of Petroleum of Iran Bijan Namdar Zangane.
In particular, at a meeting of the minister with the head of the Chinese petrochemical corporation Sinopec was confirmed the willingness and desire of the parties to develop cooperation in various fields of energy sector, including the development and exploitation of oil fields of Iran and increasing the supply of Iranian crude oil to China. In this case, the sides gave a positive assessment of the existing potential of bilateral energy cooperation in light of the expected cancellation of international sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
In addition, during the negotiations held a detailed discussion of issues related to the development of the first and second stages of a major oil field "Yadavaran" in southwest Iran. Following these discussions, the parties were in favor of a speedy resolution of all outstanding issues in order to facilitate the successful implementation of this project as soon as possible.
According to the Customs Administration of China, the volume of trade between the two countries in 2014 exceeded $51.85 billion. The volume of Chinese exports to Iran amounted to $24.36 billion, and Iran exported to China a variety of products in the amount of $27.49 billion.
