China joined the world’s top three in shale gas production

Almaty. August 16. Silkroadnews – China joined the world’s top three in shale gas production, “People’s Daily” reported.
The “Shale Revolution” affecting the global energy architecture rapidly enters the commercial production stage in China. At the moment, China has joined the world’s top three in shale gas production, following the U.S. and Canada, the report said.
Last year China’s shale gas production reached 7.88 billion cubic meters. With this reading China ranked the third behind the U.S. and Canada.
It is reported that a shale gas reserve of 764.3 billion cubic meters was explored in Southwest China.
At the moment, a 764.3 billion cubic meters’ geological reserve of shale gas with a was discovered on the territory of the Sichuan basin and the adjacent areas (Southwest China), including 600.8 billion cubic meters in the deposits of shale rocks of the Fuling field in the city Chongqing. Fulign became the world’s biggest shale deposit in the world with the exception of North America. It is expected that by the end of the year the Fuling production facilities will allow producing average annual volume of 10 billion cubic meters of gas, the publication says.
Another large field with an explored reserve of 163.5 billion cubic meters is located in the Weiyuan-Changning county of Sichuan province.
Reportedly, the exploration is also being conducted in the Yangtze River basin, where two large commercial shale gas development bases are forecasted.
