China launched Tianlian-1 communication satellite

Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews – China launched into orbit a communications satellite Tianlian-1, Chinese media reported.

The launch took place from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan on the night of November 22nd to 23rd. Together with the previously launched three satellites Tianlian-1 will support a global data relay network.

Tianlian-1 will improve coverage for measurement and control service for the Chinese spacecraft “Shenzhou”, as well as space labs and space stations which construction is planned for the future.

The network of Tianlian-1 satellites will also provide services for satellites data relay at the medium and low-earth orbits, as well as services for measurement and control during the launch of the Chinese spacecraft.
