Almaty. September 8. Silkroadnews – China lodged stern representation to the Ambassador of South Korea for THAAD PRO installations deployment, TASS reported.
China’s authorities express its concern with deployment of four more installations of THAAD mobile complexes in the Republic of Korea, and lodged stern representation with the South Korean diplomatic mission in China, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Geng Shuang said.
With this Geng Shuang stressed that South Korea and Washington should take into account the security issues of the countries of the region.
Once again, he noted, the PRC opposes the THAAD deployment of THAAD in the Republic of Korea. this position is clear and unambiguous. Seoul and Washington should take into account the concerns of the region’s countries regarding their national security, stop placing American missile defense complexes on their territory. China has already made stern representation on this issue to the South Korean side.
Earlier South Korea’s Defense Ministry announced the deployment of four more missile launchers of the U.S. anti-missile system THAAD in the south of the Korean peninsula. Part of the U.S. missile defense system was delivered to South Korea this spring with reference to the “North Korea’s military threat”.
