China needs to step up the development of new high-tech weapons, says Premier

"We need to be deploy a single plan for military training in all aspects and areas of maintaining stability on land, sea and air borders. We should comprehensively strengthen the construction of modern logistical services, significantly intensify research on defense technology and the development of new high-tech weapons, to ensure the development of defense science, technology and the military-industrial complex" - said Premier at the presentation on the work of the government at the III session of NPC, 12th convocation on Thursday.
Also, according to him, it is necessary to deepen the reform of national defense and army while improving the rule of law in the field of defense and army building.
"It is necessary to strengthen the modernization of the armed forces of the police, to raise the entire population defense consciousness, promote opportunities for improving defense mobilization and creation of reserve forces. It is necessary to maintain the harmonious development of economic construction and defense, promote the development of an in-depth process of civil-military integration",- he said.
Governments at all levels must constantly worry about defense and military construction, and provide support, strengthen and encourage solidarity with the army authorities and the people.
