China opposes the U.S. THAAD deployment in the Republic of Korea

Almaty. September 5. Silkroadnews – China opposes the U.S. THAAD deployment on the territory of the Republic of Korea, China's leader Xi Jinping stated.

«Wrong treatment of this question does not contribute to support the strategic stability within the region and could lead to aggravate the disputes», Xi Jinping said meeting with President of South Korea Park Geun-hye on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Huangzhou.

The President of China has confirmed his country has always been making efforts for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, support of peace and stability on the peninsula and solution of the relevant issues through the dialogue and consultations.

He urged to adhere to the six-party talks format and take into account the involved parties' concerns in an integrated and balanced way to build the long-term peace and stability on the peninsula.
