China plans to build commercial nuclear power unit of IV Generation in 2017

Almaty. September 21. Silkroadnews - In 2017, China Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation (CNEC) will officially start the construction of a high-temperature nuclear reactor with gas-cooling in Zhuytszin (Jiangsu Province, East China), reported Chinese media.
"The project is a high-temperature nuclear reactor with gas-cooling - an advanced nuclear technology, the full intellectual property rights for which belong to China, as well as generally accepted atomic energy technologies of the fourth generation", - said the deputy president of the corporation CNEC Wang Jiping.
In previously published medium and long term development of nuclear power in China for 2011-2020 envisages the need for active promotion of basic research and development, design and construction of such reactors with high reliability as VTGYAR in order to maintain a leading position in the country in the world region.
To date, the company CNEC signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the construction of nuclear reactors VTGYAR with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
The high-temperature nuclear reactor with gas-cooling is recognized as the world's first nuclear power units for commercial purposes of the fourth generation.
