Almaty. December 29. Silkroadnews – China unveils its first civil-military cybersecurity innovation center, “People’s Daily” reports.
“China unveiled the nation’s first cybersecurity innovation center developed under the national strategy of civil-military integration, amid Beijing’s call to step up its national cyber defenses,” the report said.
It is noted that the newly-created center has set an ambitious goal - to create “a cutting-edge cybersecurity defense system for the military to help win future cyber wars”.
The center has been set by one of the leading Chinese cybersecurity companies, 360 Enterprise Security Group, under the instruction of the Central Commission for Integrated Military and Civil Development and related military agencies, which will also manage the center’s operation.
According to Wu Yunkun, president of the security group, at the first stage the center will focus on creating cyber defense systems for military-related Internet services and a mechanism to share information on threats to military users. Small- and medium-sized companies will also be involved in cooperation with a technology center to provide the necessary services in the event of a cyber war.
In particular, the center wants to create a special fund for investments in innovations in cybersecurity and research teams that will be supported by local authorities, military and enterprises. It is also considering the possibility of conducting a pilot study on recruitment of cyber-militias and establishment of a mechanism for the provision of emergency response services in cybersecurity and services for the analysis and monitoring of the ongoing advanced threat to military and local authorities.
China has long attached great importance to cybersecurity and used to pay special attention to cybersecurity in the military field.
