China promised to respond to U.S. possible actions in foreign trade

Almaty. August 15. Silkroadnews – China has promised to respond to the U.S. possible actions in foreign trade, Russian newspaper “Взгляд” reports.
The Chinese authorities “will not sit idle” if Washington takes any unilateral measures in foreign trade to put pressure on Beijing on the pretext of intellectual property protection, China’s commerce ministry said, the newspaper reported on Tuesday.
According to publication, China expressed the hope that the U.S. representative in the trade negotiations will show due respect for Beijing and adhere to an objective position.
China does not intend to observe the case sitting idly by and will necessarily take all possible retaliatory measures of a similar nature, the country’s commerce ministry is quoted saying, having promised to be firmly resolved to protect the legitimate rights of the Chinese side.
The document was issued in response to the U.S. possible initiation of investigation of cases of the U.S. intellectual property rights’ violation by China.
Earlier it was reported, that at the end of last week the U.S. President Donald Trump instructed to start an investigation over China’s trade practices and assess possible damage from China’s trade policy.
