China Railway Corp. bought 104 Fuxing bullet trains at $ 2.7 billion

Almaty. August 16. Silkroadnews – China Railway Corp. (CRC) bought 104 Fuxing bullet trains with a total cost of 17.8 billion yuan (about $2.67 billion), TASS reported on Wednesday.
It is noted that, taking into account the previous agreements, the total deal for Fuxing bullet trains has reached 154. The new trains are expected to go into service on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railroads, considered as the most loaded in China.
The contract initial value, as reported, was to be 18.7 billion yuan. CRC required a 20% discount from the supplier, one of its structural divisions, but then lowered its discount requirements to 5%. The cost of one train is about 170 million yuan (about $20.45 million).
According to the publication, Fuxing bullet trains were first launched on June 26 this year on the Beijing-Shanghai route. Trains are capable of reaching a maximum speed of up to 400 km/h, but during normal operation the speed is around 350 km/h. The train service life reaches 30 years.
It is noted that the length of the railway tracks in China is about 124 thousand km, of which more than 22 thousand km are high-speed railroads. The high-speed trains running along the Beijing-Shanghai route deliver an average of 505,000 passengers per day.
