China raised coal imports 12.4% to 1.557 trillion tonnes in 8 months

Almaty. September 20. Silkroadnews – For January-August 2016 China raised its coal imports 12.4% year-on-year up to 1.557 trillion tonnes, Chinese media reported.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, only in August this volume rose 52.1% and amounted to 265.9 billion tonnes.

At the same time, China's coal production for January-August fell 10.2% to 2.18 billion tonnes. The August data showed 11% volume decrease to 280 million tonnes.

The reserves of this fuel for the first eight months of the year decreased 12.2% and made 460 million tonnes.
