Almaty. July 18. Silkroadnews – China has raised its alternative energy capacity by nearly 80GW in six months, Russian information portal DigiTimes reported.
“China National Renewable Energy Center (CNREC) reports, over the past six months the country has increased use of wind and solar energy. The total capacity of new wind farms launched in the first half of 2017 made 55GW, and the capacity of solar power plants in the country increased by 24GW over the same period”, report reads.
More than 50% of the new solar power plants built during this period are located in the eastern and central regions of the country, while wind power plants are mainly located in the northern, central and eastern parts of the PRC.
