China-Russia oil pipeline transported more than 80 million tons of crude oil

Almaty. April 25. Silkroadnews – China-Russia oil pipeline transported more than 80 million tons of crude oil, Xinhua news agency reported.

According to information by the Heilongjiang province immigration and quarantine control department, as of April 20, 2016, 82.38 million tons of crude oil worth $56.6 billion was transported through the oil pipeline from Russia to China.

Data show that in January-March 2016 the volume of crude oil transported via this pipeline totaled 5.31 million tons, which is a 4.4% increase versus the same period of last year.

China-Russia oil pipeline was formally put into operation on January 1, 2011. It starts in the village of Skovorodino in the Amur region of Russia, in the Chinese territory the pipeline about 1 thousand kilometers long passes through the province of Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and ends at Daqing City.
According to the contract, every year for 20 years the pipeline will deliver from Russia to China 15 million tons of crude oil, with maximum annual volume reaching 30 million tons.
