Almaty. September 11. Silkroadnews - China’s Central Military Commission has completed a large-scale inspection of the army, Global Times reported with reference to Xinhua.
“China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) said it has completed an eight-month inspection work on military reform. The commission issued a notice for the whole military to learn lessons from the 65 typical cases of discipline violations and corruption discovered during the inspection,” the report said.
The inspectors visited about 1,000 military entities above the regimental level, including theater commands, branches of military services, and military educational institutions. The survey covered over 50,000 soldiers and officers, and also over 1,400 petitions and tip-offs.
To remind, a major structural reform of the army began in China in late 2015. During the reform, four military departments - the General Staff, the Political Department, the Logistics Department and the Armaments Department - were reorganized into 15 new structures. And to replace the seven military areas, five theater commands were created.
A key feature of the reform is a smaller grounds force, the publication reads.
