China’s consumer price index rose by 1.8% in July

Almaty. August 10. Silkroadnews – This July Chinese consumer price index rose 1.8% year-on-year, “Xinhua” agency wrote.

In June 2016 the consumer price index stood at 1.9%.

According to data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, this July prices for food, alcohol and tobacco products increased by 2.8% year-on-year, including 11.3% growth of prices for meat products, while the cost of fresh vegetables and eggs dropped by 4.3% and 2% respectively.

Prices for other goods and services increased by 4.4%. The cost of medical and health goods and services grew by 4.3%, housing costs raised by 1.6%. Cultural, entertainment and educational products and services increased by 1.6%, clothing also became more expensive +1.4%, and domestic goods and services rose +0.6%.

Prices for transportation and communication declined by 1.6%.

The national statistical data also shows, the producer price index of China decreased by 1.7% year-on-year at the end of July, though increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month.
