China’s electronic payment platform Alipay to enter the Kenyan market

Almaty. July 21. Silkroadnews – China’s electronic payment platform Alipay intends to enter the Kenyan market, China Daily portal informs.
“Chinese electronic payment platform Alipay plans to enter the Kenyan market as an indigenous company, where it would create a payment platform for companies operating in the East African region’s largest economy”, Alipay founder Jack Ma said during his visit to Kenya as a part of a tour organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to promote global entrepreneurship and mentoring of young and future entrepreneurs.
“Soon 90% of companies will work on the Internet. We would enable you to buy and sell. We want to enable every business to trade globally. Alipay is definitely interested”, Ma said during a public lecture at the University of Nairobi.
According to the portal, Alipay is a part of Alibaba business empire which value is estimated at around $556 billion with 56 thousand employees. According to J. Ma, his business has created 33 million jobs in China and is now capable of undertaking massive logistical operations, delivering 65 million packages all over China.
