Almaty. November 18. Silkroadnews – The National Committee on US-China Relations and American company Rhodium Group report that China’s direct investment into the United States exceeded $15 billion in 2015, Chinese media reported.

According to the report, over the period from 1990 to 2015 the direct US investments into China reached $228 billion, while China’s direct investments into the United States totaled $64 billion. Despite the fact that the United States exceeded the Chinese investments volumes in 3.56 times, there is a reversion emerged in the investment trend in recent years.

Thus, after reaching its peak in 2008 ($21 billion) the US investments into China began to decline, with annual average investments reaching $13 billion. On the other hand, the Chinese investments into the United States over the period from 2011 to 2015 annually grew by an average of 30% and jumped from $1 billion in 2008 to $15 billion in 2015.

This year this volume is expected to total $25-30 billion.

According to the report, Chinese investments into U.S. exceeded that of U.S. investments into China for the first time ever due to the rate of growth of China’s economy and rapid deepening of economic restructuring.
