China’s J-20 fighter passed test in nighttime exercises
Beijing. June 5. Silkroadnews – China’s J-20 fighter took part in joint night exercises with J-16 and J-10c fighters to further improve the combat capabilities of China's air force, the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), China Plus reports.
During the exercise, the J-20 pilots took advantage of their aircraft in terms of situational awareness and secrecy to gain air superiority, while the J-16 and J-10c fighter jets performed precise ground strikes.
The exercises have been aimed to take full advantage of the different capabilities of the fighter jets.
The J-20 stealth fighter made its first flight back in 2011. Last year, three jets have been demonstrated at the military parade dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army.
The J-20 Chief Designer Yang Wei said, not only defensive, but also offensive capabilities are required to maintain peace. The J-20 jets are a major part of the PLAAF modernization efforts.
