China’s Prime Minister to pay official visit to Cambodia

Almaty. January 5. Silkroadnews – China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang will pay an official visit to Cambodia, Xinhua news agency reported.
“Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend the second Lancang-Mekong River Cooperation (LMC) leaders' meeting in Phnom Penh and pay an official visit to Cambodia from Jan. 10 to 11. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the announcement on Thursday,” the report said.
According to Geng, Premier Li will co-chair the meeting of the leaders with Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen. During the meeting, leaders from China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam will review the progress in sub-regional cooperation and discuss further prospects.
During the official visit, Li will meet with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and hold talks with Hun Sen to develop bilateral cooperation.
The Lancang River originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in southwest China. In Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and before entering the sea, it is called the Mekong River.
