“The volume of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with the CAREC countries increased from $17.5 billion to $22 billion in 2010–2015, yet China remains the major trading partner of Kazakhstan in the region. Its share in total trade with the CAREC countries accounted for more than 77%,” T. Zhaksylykov said during the forum of Central Asia’s analytical centers development held in Astana on Monday.

“Of course, it should be noted that with the current crisis beginning the dynamics of the trade turnover slowed slightly. Strengthening of the relations, promoting the trade and investments across the borders, improving access to foreign markets shall contribute to improving the prospects for the entire region,” he added.

He also said during 2001–2015 within the CAREC cooperation framework Kazakhstan implemented 6 projects and other 23 projects are under the process of realization.

According to the press-release, the forum has been organized in cooperation with the Institute of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC).

The aim of the forum is to discuss the prospects of cooperation, develop the analytical center network throughout the region and build a special information control center for information sharing within the CAREC.
