Almaty. July 18. Silkroadnews – China’s steel output hit the record this June, Ukrainian newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli reports with reference to Reuters.
“In June 2017, China steel producers reported on 72.87 million tonnes of steel produced. Keeping such rates of production China could achieve a result of 891 million tonnes throughout the year.
The previous monthly record in the sector was achieved in May 2014 (71.16 million tonnes).
As a total for the first half of 2017, the output of steel in China amounted to 419.75 million tonnes, i.e. a 4.6% growth year-on-year”, the report said on Tuesday.
With this it is also noted, China fulfilled its annual plan to reduce excess metallurgical capacity in just six months, having cut it by 5.95 million tonnes. Companies with low efficiency and producers of low-quality steel have been selected for redundancy.
