China started production of high-strength and high-modulus carbon fiber M40J

Almaty. July 21. Silkroadnews – China began production of high-strength and high-modulus carbon fiber M40J, Chinese newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.
According to information received from the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, China built 100 tonnes of M40J high-performance carbon fiber production line, the report said.
“M40J high-performance carbon fiber composite products with lightweight, high specific strength, high specific stiffness and strong anti-vibration characteristics, is sophisticated aerospace Complex model products indispensable key materials”, publication reads.
It is reported that the State Council’s notice on “China Manufacturing 2025” says about development of 10 important fields, including high-speed CNC machines and robots, engineering projects, etc., which require wide application of materials containing high-strength and high-modulus carbon fibers. Earlier China used to import this kind of materials.
At the same time, China intends to continue development in this area.    
According to the newspaper, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, being the key organization for the development and application of Chinese carbon fiber M40J in engineering projects, broke through the existing foreign technology barrier and conducted a comprehensive analysis of key technologies for the development and testing of carbon fiber and composite materials, as well as a comparison with foreign technology. At the same time, the corporation carries out high-level planning, gradually creates and improves standards for evaluating the characteristics, methods and technologies of high-strength, high-modulus carbon fiber, laying the technological base for the development of high-strength and high-modulus carbon fiber in China.
