Beijing. January 24. Silkroadnews - China will build industrial clusters along the Yangtze River, Xinhua news agency reports.
“China will focus on building world-class industrial clusters for making electronics, high-end equipment, automobiles, home appliances and clothing along its longest river,” the report said.
This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will publish guidelines for building the industrial clusters in the economic belt of the Yangtze River.
The creation of the clusters will be centered around cities with industrial potential and is aimed at creating more than 100 development zones and industrial parks.
The economic belt of the Yangtze River will include nine provinces and two municipalities covering about one-fifth of the territory of China. With population of 600 million people, the region generates more than 40% of the country’s GDP.
