China to expand oil and gas cooperation with Arab countries
Beijing. Jul 10. Silkroadnews - Chinese authorities plan expanding cooperation with the Arab states in field of oil and gas production and processing, said Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports.
China will continue to promote cooperation with the Arab countries in the oil and gas sector and other areas. Strengthening long-term friendly relations both sides should act with mutual benefit in mind, TASS wrote citing Xi Jinping saying at the opening of the 8th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum in Beijing.
According to the Chinese leader, nuclear power, as well as the development of alternative, environmentally friendly energy carriers, are among the promising areas of cooperation between China and the Arab states.
The Eighth China-Arab States Cooperation Forum starts in Beijing on July 10 with participation of representatives of diplomatic and governmental circles of 21 Arab countries, as well as the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit. One of the forum’s major tasks is the activation and expansion of the scale of interregional trade and economic cooperation within the framework of Belts and Road initiative.
