China to introduce a new national standard for raw milk
Beijing. March 16. Silkroadnews - China plans to introduce a new national standard for raw milk to ensure better regulation of the market order and meet the needs of consumers, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.
The draft of the new national standard has been released search the public opinion. A distinctive feature of the new standard will be a classification system based on such criteria as quality and milk sources.
The system will help to clearly and accurately separate high-quality dairy products from the lower-end ones, and as a result not only meet the needs of different categories of consumers, but also ensure their right to know more about the product.
The country now has only one standard on raw milk, adopted 8 years ago, but it does not reflect the real value of high-quality products.
If the new standard is adopted, dairies will make products of different levels depending on the origin of raw milk and sell them at differentiated prices.
