China to introduce electronic tickets for high-speed trains
Beijing. Jul 10. Silkroadnews - China is going to introduce the electronic tickets sale in pilot test mode in some of its high-speed rail lines by the end of this year, China Plus reports.
The sale of electronic tickets is scheduled to start at the end of the year, while passengers will be able to pay for travel by using their identity card or mobile phone without having to purchase a paper ticket.
Now passengers can buy tickets for high-speed trains online, yet still they have to take a paper ticket at the check-in counter at the station.
It is expected that the “paperless tickets move” will be promoted throughout the country within the next year.
