China turns to be the US’s largest bondholder

Almaty. August 16. Silkroadnews – China became the largest holder of the U.S. bonds, Russian information portal “Экономика сегодня” reports.
In June China purchased bonds to the amount of $44.3 billion, which turned to be the largest purchase since June 2011. With the recent acquisition account, Beijing became a bondholder worth $1.146 trillion, the report said.
It is noted that earlier Japan used to be the largest holder of the U.S. bonds.
Since October 2016, Japan has been the largest holder of bonds. Until now, China ranked the second, the publication reads.
