"According to the latest projections, by 2020 the world's foreign assets will grow almost threefold - from $6.4 trillion to $20 trillion. By that time, China will become the world's largest foreign investor", - says the publication.
In accordance with the message, this study was carried out in collaboration with Rhodium Group and Mercator Institute for China Studies. The report notes that by 2020, China's investment in western countries will gradually increase. In addition, by 2020 the volume of foreign direct investment in China will increase from the current $744 billion to $2 trillion.
The report highlights that over the last decade, China has achieved rapid growth in foreign direct investment from virtually zero to about $100 billion a year, and became one of the world's leading providers of direct investment.
"From 2000 to 2014, Chinese companies invested 46 billion euros in 1047 projects in 28 EU countries. Most of the projects will be completed after the financial crisis", - the report says.
