Almaty. December 24. Silkroadnews - China, in order to improve safety in the workplace will close more than 2 thousand coal mines in 2015, reported Chinese media.
"Government will continue the reorganization of coal production. In 2015, the country will close over 2,000 small coal mines, and in 2016 the total number of coal mines in the country will be reduced to less than 10 thousand",- quoted media the head of state government safety control of China Yang Dongliang.
According to him, the security situation in the Chinese manufacturing enterprises remains difficult, but the trend towards improvement is maintained. During the first 11 months occured 37 large and very large industrial accidents, which resulted in the deaths of 685 people. The numbers decreased by 24.5% and 18.3% compared to the same period last year.
Ya.Dunlyan reported that in January-November of this year, the country recorded 269 thousand incidents in the workplace, which killed 57 thousand man. Both figures are respectively 4.7% and 6.1% lower than in the previous year for the same period.
In particular, in this period of time the number of accidents in coal mines decreased by 12% and the number of their victims - by 10.6%.
As noted, the Chinese authorities have also tightened penalties for failure to comply with safety standards of mining. According to the law, which came into force on 1 December this year, for violations that caused minor and major accidents at the mine, now is subjected a penalty of one to 20 million yuan ($3.2 million).
