China will continue to reduce import tariffs on consumer goods
Beijing. June 1. Silkroadnews - China will continue to reduce import tariffs on consumer goods stating July 1, the State Council said at an executive session chaired by Prime Minister Li Keqiang, People’s Daily reports.
The average tariff rate for clothing, shoes and hats, kitchenware, and sports and fitness supplies will be reduced from 15.9% to 7.1%, and that for home appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators from 20.5% to 8%, the report reads.
Average tariffs on seafood and processed foods, such as mineral water, will decrease from 15.2% to 6.9%.
Average tariffs on detergents, cosmetics, such as skin care products and hair care products, as well as certain medicines and health products, will be cut from 8.4% to 2.9%.
