Almaty. November 14. Silkroadnews - China's Ministry of Commerce was outraged by US restrictions on plywood imports, Reuters reported.
“China’s commerce ministry said on Tuesday that it expresses “strong dissatisfaction” on a ruling by the United States over imported hardwood plywood products from China,” the report said.
“Unreasonable U.S. actions and rulings will seriously impact China’s exports of hardwood plywood and damage the interests of Chinese firms,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
On Monday the U.S. Commerce Department said it had finally determined that Chinese hardwood plywood was being subsidized by the state and dumped to the U.S. markets. The department has set an anti-dumping duties of 183.6%, and anti-subsidy duties up to 194.9%.
In 2016, the United States imported around $1.12 billion goods from China.
